Meeting held at Cedarmere Elementary at 6:00 p.m.

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m.

President's Remarks: I would like us to address the calendar this evening. We set the current calendar 9 months ago, and we need to revisit the remaining items and get dates finalized. We have accomplished everything that we set out to do at the beginning of the year - this is our chance to add additional items if possible.

Calendar Items:

• Cabaret: A potential date for this event is Tuesday, June 6. Caron will work with Gil Meerdter to set the schedule and coordinate the entertainment.
• Instrumental and Vocal Music program: These events will be combined and are scheduled for May 25.
• Cedarday: is scheduled for May 7. Melana is coordinating this event. The math and spelling bees will not be part of Cedarday -- it is too difficult for some parents to get their children to school to participate on the weekend. These events will be held during the school day.
• Cedarmere Night: There was some discussion around having a Cedarmere night at a local restaurant. Possibilities are Fuddruckers, Burger King or Bateman's.
• Munchkins with Mom/ Donuts with Dad: It was suggested that these events be moved to early in the school year to encourage parents to volunteer early in the year.

Principal's Remarks: I participated in the Fruit Sale for the first time this month. I was very impressed -- the activity was very organized and the students and parents were very enthusiastic.

I would like to thank Rich for all his hard work on the playground. Thanks to everyone who contributed to a very successful year here at Cedarmere.

Nominations: We need to form a nominations committee and get the next slate of officers identified. The potential committee members are: Helen, Erin, Stephanie, Mary and Pam.

Motion: Motion to form the nominating committee with these members.

Vote: All in favor

Stephanie will be the chair of the committee. A tear-off for self-nominations will be added to the next newsletter. Elections will be held the night of the music program.

Town Hall Meeting: Sandi is looking for a date to schedule this on. Will not be called a 'Town Meeting'.

Playground Equipment: The P.O. has been cut for the new playground. Rich showed a sample drawing of the sign for the front of the school. The sign will be equipped with a timer-controlled light and an acrylic panel to protect the sign from vandals. Rich is looking for feedback on the design of the sign. He would also like to get a professional design for some landscaping at the playground and around the sign.

Committee Reports:

Scholarship: We need to form a committee to review the applications and select the scholarship winners. This is needed by April 14. The committee volunteers are: Erin, Stephanie, Rich, Esther, Lisa and Mary.

Secretary's Day: Gifts will be sent to the secretaries on 4/26. We will provide coverage in the office on Friday for 2 hours so that the secretaries can go out to lunch. They will be receiving a gift certificate from Captain Harvey's.

Teacher Appreciation Week: This is May 8 - 12. Stephanie and Caron are coordinating this. Breakfast will be provided on Monday. Other events will be held (lunch, gifts) on other days during the week.

Teacher's Luncheon: The teachers luncheon will be held on 6/12.

Fifth Grade Events: Invitations will be distributed to the graduation -- there will be a theme that will be on the programs as well. The following items are needed: new table cloths, paper goods, 4^th grade parents to volunteer on graduation day.
